A Mezz'Aria
2021 | visual identiy
A Mezz’Aria is a multidisciplinary project of creative re-narration of suspended places. The project worked with local community, through participatory workshops, and by organising exhibitions and open calls for artists, asking them to reimagine the territory.
The Borlottee collective, which I am a part of, created the visual identity for the project. In 2021 we developed a photographic iconography for the project, depicting unusual activities in familiar places, with some sci-fi elements.
We wanted to stimulate the audience to imagine those places as completely different, even if in an unrealistic way. We challenged the bright and cheerful communication made by the tourist board, leaning towards a more melancholic atmosphere, and avoiding the most touristic places.
